Grant Applications
Grant applications are the primary means by which the Trust provides funding for the Harvard Public Schools.

The Trust reviews grant applications at its monthly (September through June) meetings. To be considered, grant applications should reach the Trust at least one week prior to any given meeting.

Eligibility Criteria

Grant applications may be submitted by Harvard Schools educators, administrators, students, or community members.

All grants must align with one of the four outlined Funding Priorities:

Supplemental and experiential learning: supporting co-curricular and extracurricular programs, site visits, guest speakers, and hands-on workshops across STEM, the arts, and humanities.

Student inspiration and future-readiness: investing in student-led projects, emerging technologies, and future-ready skill development that sparks curiosity and critical thinking.

Educator empowerment and innovation: funding teacher-led initiatives, innovative classroom grants, and specialized professional development.

Community-school connection: cultivating programs, events, and partnerships that bridge the gap between town residents, parents, local organizations, and the school district.

Grant money may not be used to cover operating expenses typically covered by the District’s operating budget or as part of the core curriculum.

Grants that impact a large number of students are preferred. Grants that impact fewer than 10 students are capped at $25/student. Scholarships are available, however, for need-based requests.

Grant applications submitted retroactively will not be considered.​​
