The First Gala, November 1990
Wish You Were There
The Harvard Schools Trust's gala last Saturday night was a blast. Not only was the food—prepared by just two incredibly ambitious cooks—delicious; not only were the desserts, served after the play, properly delectable; not only were Harvard's precocious young actors entertaining and touching; but the event brought together a wide assortment of townspeople, all dressed to the teeth and feeling great. It was one of the best all-town activities in years…It felt like old times.
Beyond that, there was the success of the event as a money raiser. A gross of $10,000 is nothing to sneeze at, and the money, we're sure, will be put to good use. The whole thing was a wonderful idea, wonderfully executed, and we can't wait for next year.
